Alphonso Davies scored his first career MLS goal and set up new teammate Kei Kamara for another as the Vancouver Whitecaps opened their season with a 2-1 win over the Montreal Impact. Montreal Impact have confirmed the signing of France international center-back Rod Fanni on a short-term deal. The 36-year-old, who was a free agent after being released by Ligue 1 club Marseille, will join the Impact as a replacement for Zakaria Diallo -- who tore his Achilles tendon last week. "Rod's addition to the group was needed to help fill the void in our defensive line after Zakaria's injury," Impact technical director Adam Braz told the club's official website.
